To comply, subscribe to weekly organics collection service, self-haul to a composting facility, or compost on site. California Organics Mandate
California Senate Bill (SB) 1383 requires all multifamily complexes and businesses to separate food waste, food-soiled paper, and green waste from garbage. They must also provide organic waste collection containers, educate residents, employees, contractors, tenants, and customers about properly separating food waste and food-soiled paper, and inspect the garbage, recycling, and organic waste containers to make sure materials are properly separated. This can be accomplished by subscribing to organic waste collection service, self-hauling organic waste to a composting or processing facility, or composting on site.
At Redwood Waste Solutions, we are committed to ensuring your compliance with SB 1383. Please contact us at 707-234-6400 for a free onsite waste assessment or to schedule service.
Under SB 1383, businesses are required to participate in food recovery programs if they are wholesale food vendors, food service providers, grocery stores of 10,000 sq. ft. or more, supermarkets, or food distributors. Food recovery programs enable businesses with excess edible food to donate it to organizations that use the excess food to feed people. We are available to provide your business with resources necessary to establish a local food recovery program.
